About Elecosoft’s IconSystem
The IconSystem has its roots in Architecture and Construction.
Working on projects for major retail clients, the ‘brains’ behind the IconSystem used technical and technological knowledge to develop a unique way of managing and imparting design specifications. Namely, how to keep them updated and disseminated with minimum fuss. Pre-millennium, ideas had been coming together for what was to become the early design of the IconSystem. This quickly resulted in the launch of a website to communicate a client’s design manual. It didn’t go unnoticed as ASDA picked it up.
Not long after, other early adopters like Sainsbury’s saw the opportunity too. One in particular embarked on a ‘data systems consolidation’ project to deal with information that was being held in a number of disparate 3rd party systems. At the end of the project, with all the information now residing in one client-owned IconSystem, the legacy systems were closed down resulting in major cost-savings for the client. Over a decade later, our system is still in use by the client.
Since then, the solution which is sold via a licence, has been in continual development. In 2016 it became an Elecosoft solution and is now a key part of the group’s world-leading digital construction solutions.
